About Dr. Karen Bender, ND, RN

Dr. Karen Bender, ND, RN received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from one of the United States’ foremost institutions of science-based natural medicine, Bastyr University. While at Bastyr, she bonded with herbs.  She worked in the herbal garden and was a teaching assistant for field botany classes and herbal medicine making courses.
Dr. Karen Bender has over a decade experience working in the healthcare field, as a naturopathic doctor and as school and hospice nurse. Her experience continues to teach her the vital importance of connection to self, the community, and nature as fundamental to health.  She has found incorporating mindfulness practices with time in nature profoundly deepens all these connections.  She offers mindfulness workshops and classes with an emphasizes on compassion for self and others as well as guided medicinal plant outings.   Dr. Karen Bender hopes you join her in experiencing the beauty of the present moment in the great outdoors.
