About the Event

Have you ever tried to change a behavior and failed?  If you have you are not alone.  In fact most people struggle with making positive behavior changes.  Whether it be trying to eat more vegetables, having better sleep hygiene, or exercise more, making changes can be difficult.  How do you respond when you fail?  Are you critical and hard on yourself, or are you kind and compassionate?  Many of us tend to be more harsh than kind because we think that will motivate us to do better next time.  The research actually supports the opposite.  When we are hard on ourselves we are more likely to activate the stress response and make excuses not to try again.  It may sound counter intuitive but when we motivate ourselves with compassion and kindness we are more likely to try again and to succeed in reaching our goals. 

Come explore developing a more compassionate way of motivating yourself when making sustainable healthy changes. This workshop is designed to be hands on and interactive with guided meditations, group discussion, and guided reflection activities.
